In part one of this two-part series, I will take you through to one of the most valuable features available to OWN3D Pro Chatbot.

I walk you through how to use use them and show you the benefits.

Today we are kicking it off with commands and variables.

Why are commands useful?

Custom commands help you provide helpful information to your community without having to repeat yourself constantly. So you can focus on engaging with your audience.

Here is how to create a custom command

To get started, head to your OWN3D Pro dashboard, navigate to the chatbot, and select commands.

First, make sure the chatbot is within your channel and has moderator rights. You can do this by running the slash command mod owned. The chatbot will join your channel once you are live.

Once you have done that, it's time to create your first command. Do this by clicking the Add button; this will open the add command modal.

Within the modal, you need to define your command and then define a custom response. The response can be a simple text or a twig script.

For example, this will create a simple !lurk command:

{% set messages = [
    "is watching from the bushes.",
    "has spilled tea on their keyboard so they will not be chatting.",
    "is lurking in the shadows like a big spooky weirdo."
] %}
{{ attribute(irc.tags, 'display-name') }}
{{ random(messages) }}

To learn more about scripting, check out the chatbot documentation.

After that, save your command, and you are ready to go!

Enjoy your commands with OWN3D Pro chatbot.
